    Falling rupee to give ₹22,700 crore tax gain to states

    The falling rupee and increasing fuel prices are likely to give states a gain in tax revenues of around ₹22,700 crore over and above the budget estimates for current fiscal, a SBI Research report claimed. It further added Maharashtra, which has the highest rate of VAT on petrol (39.12% per litre), will gain the largest revenue, while Goa (16.66%) lowest.
