    2,000-year-old Buddhist pillar found in Andhra village

    A 2,000-year-old Buddhist pillar, believed to be dating back to 1st century AD, was found in Chandaluru village of Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district. According to a Buddhist Scholar, village locals came across the pillar while carrying out work for building a Shiva temple. He said the pillar is carved on Palnadu limestone, which is typically used in Buddhist structures.
